This notice is prepared by HomeTivi as data controller under Article 10 of Turkish Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK") to inform data subjects about the purposes and legal grounds for processing their personal data, and about their rights.
1. Identity of the Data Controller
Your personal data is processed by HomeTivi as data controller, within the scope described below.
2. Categories of Personal Data Processed
- Identity data: full name, username, account type (individual/business), company name.
- Contact data: email address, phone number.
- Profile data: profile picture, bio, channel banner image.
- Content data: videos, images, video descriptions, comments and similar content you upload.
- Location data: the city, district and neighbourhood you share in your videos.
- Transaction security data: IP address, session/log records, cookie data.
- Marketing data: preferences, like and subscription history.
3. Purposes of Processing
- Providing, maintaining and improving the HomeTivi platform and its services,
- Creating, verifying and managing your user account,
- Enabling features such as publishing videos, commenting, liking and subscribing,
- Delivering contact requests between users,
- Ensuring platform security and preventing fraud and abuse,
- Fulfilling our legal obligations (content moderation, providing information to authorities upon request),
- Producing anonymous/aggregated statistics to improve service quality.
4. Transfer of Personal Data
Within the conditions set out in Articles 8 and 9 of the KVKK, your personal data may be shared only to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes above: with our suppliers providing hosting, cloud infrastructure, email delivery and video storage services, and with competent public authorities where legally required. HomeTivi does not sell your personal data to third parties for advertising purposes.
5. Collection Method and Legal Grounds
Your personal data is collected through automated or partially automated means when you create an account on the HomeTivi website and mobile apps, add a video/comment/like, or contact us. Processing relies on the legal grounds in Article 5/2 of the KVKK — (c) conclusion and performance of a contract, (ç) compliance with a legal obligation, (e) establishment, exercise or protection of a right, and (f) legitimate interest — and on your explicit consent where none of these apply.
6. Retention Period
Your personal data is retained while your account is active and for the applicable statutory periods. When you delete your account, your profile data is deleted immediately; technical logs and audit records related to content may be kept anonymously as required by law.
7. Your Rights under Article 11 of the KVKK
As a data subject, you may exercise the following rights by contacting HomeTivi:
- Learn whether your personal data is processed,
- Request information if it has been processed,
- Learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly,
- Know the third parties, in Türkiye or abroad, to whom the data is transferred,
- Request correction if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
- Request erasure or destruction under the conditions of Article 7 of the KVKK,
- Request that your data be provided to you in a structured format (portability),
- Object to a result against you arising from automated analysis,
- Claim compensation if you suffer damage due to unlawful processing.
